Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2026, Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2020
The 2017 Pinot Noir Holtermann Vineyard saw slightly more stems (20%) and 15 months in 25% new French oak. This sweetly fruited, spicy effort has medium-bodied richness, a rounded, nicely textured mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and plenty of spice, forest floor, and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. Enjoy this soft, expansive, attractive Pinot Noir over the coming 4-6 years.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Holtermann Vineyard, from the estate's vineyard in Annapolis, is dark, punchy and savory. Black cherry, plum, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice all run through this virile, potent wine. Even with all of its intensity, the 2017 remains medium in body and nuanced.
