Tasting notes
The pale to medium ruby colored 2017 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands gives up crushed black cherries, roasted cranberries and red berries with nuances of licorice, baking spices, forest floor and dried herbs. Medium-bodied and silky, that luscious fruit is well tempered with earthy accents in the mouth, with a soft, grainy, juicy frame and delicate finish. 1,635 cases produced.

Vivid red. Smoke-accented red berry, mocha, floral pastille and white pepper scents are energized by a building mineral topnote. Weighty yet lively, showing impressive clarity to the juicy, appealingly sweet raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors, which open up slowly on the back half. Shows very good energy and solid thrust on a long, silky finish that shows just a trace of youthful tannins.
