Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2035, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2021

The 2018 Pinot Noir Champ de Mars has really gained weight and density over the last year. Powerful and introverted, the Champs de Mars is not as expressive as some of the other wines in the range. Inky red/purplish fruit, spice, pomegranate and blood orange all run through the Champ de Mars. I would give the 2018 a few years in bottle, as the tannins are pretty imposing at this stage.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Champ de Mars is one of the more laid back wines in the range. Blood orange, mint, crushed flowers and spice accents add character throughout. I won't be surprised if the bottled 2018 comes in at the upper end of this range, as it does not appear to be fully put together just yet.
