Tasting notes
Dark purple. Sexy, expressive aromas of ripe blackberry, cherry compote, licorice and vanilla, along with a floral nuance. Deep and sweet, with liqueur-like dark berry flavors that show impressive focus and energy. Densely packed but lively cabernet that finishes with smooth, harmonious tannins and impressive mineral snap.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard is impeccably refined in this vintage. Sweet, dark berries, mint and licorice lead to raspberry jam, white flowers and cloves layered into this impeccable, beautifully balanced wine. There are no hard edges or angular contours at all in this finessed, vibrant Cabernet Sauvignon.

(Not yet released) One of the greatest attributes of the Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignons is their ability to deliver incredible pleasure throughout their entire lives. I tasted a wide range of wines this year with Paul Hobbs and winemaker Megan Baccitich, including several past vintages of the flagship To Kalon, which confirmed that view. In particular, the 2001 and 2002 To Kalon Cabernets remain stunning, and the straight 1999 Napa Valley Cabernet was equally impressive. Tel. (707) 824-9879
