Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Good bright deep red. Rather closed on the nose; hints at redcurrant, raspberry, mint, flowers and smoke. Tighter than the '98 Méo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges Boudots; less fleshy and higher in acid and thus a bit ungiving today. Rather austere, even a bit dry, on the tannic finish. Boudot tendency toward charm is an advantage in a firm vintage like '98, notes winemaker, Jean-Nicholas Méo.
