A step up, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a deep ruby/plum color as well as fabulous aromatics of blackcurrants, graphite, scorched earth, and tobacco leaf. This full-bodied, rich, concentrated effort has ripe tannins, fabulous purity, and a great finish.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Oakville is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot aged in 80% new French oak. A beautiful, saturated purple color offers up blackberry, crème de cassis, licorice, charcoal and camphor. Full-bodied, yet still youthful and tight, it is bursting with terrific purity, texture and length. This big, classic Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon will hit its prime in 10-15 years, and last 30 or more years, based on how older vintages from this sector have aged. It's a beauty.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is dark, dense and beautiful. Layers of blue/purplish fruit, mocha, licorice, mint, pine and spices meld together in a juicy, resonant Cabernet Sauvignon that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Today, the 2013 Estate is creamy and wonderfully expressive, with sweet floral and spice notes that add an attractive upper register of aromatic nuance. This is a terrific showing from Plumpjack.

Bright veins of saline infused minerality followed by relentless waves of dark fruit hit the palate as the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate takes over all the senses. Beautifully chiseled and delineated, the 2013 boasts remarkable energy and tension. Hints of graphite, sage and spices add nuance on the intense, layered finish. The interplay of ripeness, acidity and tannin is utterly captivating. This is a great wine in the making.
