Score 94/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2011

Eric's GSM blend, the 2009 Booker Vineyard Vertigo (48% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 17% Mourvèdre) possesses a massively fruited, sweet personality with loads of blackberry jam, spice cake, creamy licorice, and crushed flowers on the nose. Hedonistic and awesomely textured on the palate, with loads of sweet fruit, a mouth-filling and decadent texture, beautiful purity, and enough freshness and lift to keep you coming back for another glass, this fruit-driven blend needs a short decant to show at its best and should be consumed over the coming 4-6 years.

35% Syrah, 17% Mourvedre, and 48% Grenache. This is firm and austere. Full and racy. Long and exciting. Needs a year or two of bottle age.

(48% grenache, 35% syrah and 17% mourvedre): Deep ruby. Sexy, palate-coating raspberry and blackberry flavors are complicated by Asian spices, smoke and cola. Broad, silky and alluringly sweet, with striking intensity to its deep red and dark fruit and candied rose flavors. Shows outstanding energy and focus on the long, seamless, resoundingly spicy finish.
