Tasting notes
The 2015 Dolinsek Heritage shows the more exuberant side of the vintage in its bold, racy personality. Inky blue/purplish fruit, spice, licorice, mint and lavender give the wine its distinctive dark personality. Racy, perfumed and super-expressive, the Dolinsek is one of the most overt, ripe wines in the range. The 2015 is also one of the best version of this wine I can remember tasting. This north-facing site in a cool micro-climate produced an unusually pedigreed wine in 2015.

The 2015 Proprietary Red Dolinsek Heritage is from the Goldridge soils of Russian River and a 1910 vineyard planted with Zinfandel as well as Alicante Bouschet, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Palomino, Black Muscat and Burger. Yields are miserly at one-half ton of fruit per acre at this old site. Dense purple, the wine has bright energized spring flowers, black raspberry, black cherry and blackberry fruit, pepper, Asian spice, incense and creosote. This is another complex, full-bodied, multilayered wine from Morgan Peterson that is delicious. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
