Tasting notes
The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Donn Chappellet’s deep ruby/purple color is followed by sweet, ripe fruit on the mid-palate, an attractive, plush texture, and a spicy finish. This elegant, medium-bodied, delicious, savory Cabernet should be enjoyed over the next decade. Tel. (707) 963-7136; Fax (707) 963-7445

Bright ruby-red. Aromas of bitter cherry, tobacco, chocolate and spice cake. Sweet and creamy, with currant and chocolate flavors complicated but not overwhelmed by a lightly weedy character. Very Napa Valley in character. Finishes with fairly substantial tannins that began quite pliant but showed some dryness with aeration. Also tasted: 2001 Merlot Napa Valley, 2001 Cabernet Franc Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Napa Valley.
