Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2014
(14.9% alcohol): Bright saturated ruby. Exotic, almost liqueur-like aromas of blackberry and chocolate. Very dense and classically dry in the mouth, with a medicinal cast to its brooding flavors of dark berries, licorice and menthol. Much fresher than an earlier bottle, which showed heavier aromas of molasses and black walnut and finished nutty and hot. My score, obviously, is for the better bottle.
