(14.8% alcohol): Moderately saturated ruby-red. Musky aromas of cassis, black cherry, spice cake and herbs. Very ripe, slightly port-like flavors of black cherry, cassis, herbs and spices nevertheless display good definition and energy. There's a plummy roundness here that makes this wine very easy to drink but no shortage of framing acidity. The tannins are nicely buffered but turn a tad dry with aeration, with the finish offering good subtle length.

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature exhibits a dark ruby/purple color along with a lovely perfume of black currants, licorice and spice, an attractive texture, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and elegance combined with substance. This is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon to enjoy over the next 12-15 years. Tel. (707) 257-2345; Fax (707) 257-3132
