Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2007

(15.9% alcohol) Bright, deep red. Crushed cherry, flowers, spices and minerals on the vibrant nose. Supple, dense and rich, with lovely sweetness to the cherry/berry and licorice flavors. This is a big mouthful of zinfandel. Finishes with substantial tannins and lingering notes of spice and bitter chocolate.

Score 89/100 · Drink 2006-2011, Robert Parker, Dec 2006

The 2004 Vieux-Os Zinfandel Tofanelli Vineyard, aged completely in French oak of which 25% was new, has a dark ruby color and a big, spicy, cedary nose with Provencal herb, pepper, and loads of cherry cola and earthy notes. It is a big wine at 15.9%, but the alcohol is well-concealed by the lavish fruit. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Previously recommended: 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (95); 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS (94); 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky (magnum; 94+); 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon T6 (92+) Tel.
