The 2009 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru has a fragrant raspberry and loamy nose, forest floor and browning autumn scents bubbling up with aeration. It is endowed with fine delineation, albeit sans the crystalline nature of the 2010. The palate is fresh and quite tart on the entry. Impressive acidity, with vivid strawberry and red cherry notes, there is an unlikely citric finish that imbues this Ruchottes with vigour. À point .

The 2009 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Clos des Ruchottes is drinking well, bursting with a pure and largely fruit-driven bouquet of raspberries, cherries, rose petals and orange rind. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and open-knit, with a fleshy core of fruit, melting tannins and succulent acids. It's a pretty wine that's somewhat short on complexity right now, though perhaps that will come with time.

Good full red. High-toned, deeply spicy aromas of maraschino cherry, smoke, earth and minerals. Big, rich and harmonious, with lovely floral complexity to its red fruit flavors. Wonderfully silky and round without leaving any impression of undue weight. Extremely pliant wine with very supple tannins and a rich, long finish. Beautifully balanced from the start but Rousseau's top cuvees in 2009 should really be cellared for at least a decade.
