Score 91/100 · Drink 2009-2015, David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

Aromas and juicy freshness of pear and peach, along with hints of sweet floral perfume and a subtle creaminess of texture make Boyer-Martenot’s 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets another of the vintage’s examples of unusual youthful generosity from a site whose wines are more often distinguished by minerality and youthful restraint. Not that this lacks for a chalky undertone, but persistently bright citrus, peach, and pear dominate the persistent finish, accented by faintly prickly notes of citrus rind. I would look for more depth in a couple of years and anticipate at least a half dozen of satisfaction. Vincent Boyer’s 2007s – all of which were bottled by the following September, and weigh in at 12.5-13% alcohol – display a diversity of personalities, but share a sense of transparency to nuance, and a consistency of quality not equaled by his 2006s. Medium, bright yellow. Ripe aromas of peach, butter, clove and grilled nuts, lifted by violet and lavender nuances. Supple and pliant, offering the sweetest impression of Boyer's crus, but with an edge of pineappley acidity giving the wine an early spiky quality. For all its texture, this shut down in the glass and will need some bottle aging.

Subdued but very ripe aromas of apricot, spices and nutty vanillin oak. Then quite closed in the mouth, with surprising acidity and minerality keeping the fruit under wraps. Broad but not yet filled in, and less silky than the Perrieres. Shows very good but not outstanding depth.
