Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023
The 2021 Grenache Lumiere Larner Vineyard comes from 23-year-old vines planted in sandy soils and was matured for 19 months in 25% new French oak. It has bright aromas of green olive and peppercorn, raspberry and strawberry jam, plus touches of powdered sugar, tangerine, licorice and juniper berries. The full-bodied palate has a perfumed core of berry fruit framed by pixelated tannins and bright acidity and a long, spicy finish. Just 64 cases were made.

The 2021 Grenache Larner Vineyard Lumiere comes across as austere and tightly wound. It will be interesting to see if the 2021 softens, but it is very hard to taste at this stage.
