Tasting notes
The 2019 Grenache Larner Vineyard Lumiere is a soft, easy-going wine. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice and rose petal all grace this super expressive, inviting Grenache from Paul Lato. A dollop of whole clusters (10-15%) and vineyards on sandy soils result in an especially lifted, mid-weight Grenache.

There are two Grenache releases. First, the 2019 Grenache Lumiere Larner Vineyard comes from a site in Ballard Canyon and was destemmed and aged in 25% new French oak. Its ruby/translucent color is followed by a pretty, perfumed, medium-bodied Grenache offering supple tannins, wonderful purity, and notes of herbes de Provence, white pepper, and both red and black fruits. Seemingly part Grenache and part Pinot Noir, this seamless effort will keep for 7-8 years.
