Deep ruby. A heady, complex bouquet evokes black raspberry, resinous herbs and incense, with a suave floral overtone. Lush and expansive, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and suggestions of candied lavender and spicecake. A bitter chocolate note adds depth to a long, smooth and gently tannic finish.

From a windy plot, the 2011 Pinot Noir Atticus John Sebastiano Vineyard is a smoking California Pinot that has everything you look for in the variety. Offering up a gorgeously perfumed, complex array of sweet black raspberry, crushed flowers, dried underbrush and forest floor, it is rich, medium to full-bodied and layered on the palate. Deep and concentrated, with a great mid-palate and sweet tannin, it’s a thrilling drink and should continue to shine through 2021. Drink 2015-2021. Paul Lato continues to knock it out of the park and I can’t say enough about the quality coming from this estate. Across the board, the wines show classic, varietally correct profiles that always show finesse and elegance, yet back it up with layers of fruit and texture. Tel. The 2011 Pinot Noir Atticus John Sebastiano Vineyard is another of the more immediate, juicy wines in the lineup. Dark red cherries, mint, flowers and hard candy jump from the glass. This sweet, juicy Pinot is best enjoyed on the young side, while its racy personality is as expressive and giving as it is today.
