Tasting notes
Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Schmiedt Road Zinfandel gives up lovely kirsch, redcurrant jelly, roses and spice cake notes with raspberry jam and cinnamon stick hints. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins, lively with tons of bright fruit, finishing long and spicy.

From a site planted in 1915, the 2016 Zinfandel Schmiedt Road is another super-distinctive wine in this lineup. A wine of perfume and silkiness, the Schmiedt Road shows the more restrained side of Zinfandel, with plenty of fresh, red berry fruit and the airiness that is typical of wines from sandy soils. The wine is decidedly Pinot-like in feel. Best of all, this alluring, open-knit Zinfandel will drink well with minimal cellaring.
