Tasting notes
Opaque purple-black in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon The Magnificent Seven bursts with evocative notions of black and red currant jelly, chocolate-covered cherries and black raspberries, plus touches of eucalyptus, tobacco leaf, wild sage and cinnamon stick, with a hint of cardamom. The full-bodied palate is jam-packed with black fruit and fragrant spice layers, supported by wonderfully velvety tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing with great length and a skip in its step.

The flagship from this great estate, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon The Magnificent Seven is a mix of To Kalon, Dr. Crane, and Las Piedras. A more perfumed, complex wine compared to the powerful, dense Dr. Crane release, it has a stunning bouquet of crème de cassis, black raspberries, spring flowers, incense, smoked tobacco, and gravelly earth. Full-bodied, deep, and concentrated, with a chalky sense of minerality, it's flawlessly balanced, has building tannins, a great mid-palate, and a finish that won't quit. It needs a good 4-5 years of bottle age and will evolve for 25 years.
