Score 88/100 · Drink 2008-2020, Robert Parker, Dec 2005
This reliable operation consistently turns out elegant, stylish wines. The most rigid, closed, and austere at present is the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain. Nevertheless, there is a lot to like about this deep ruby/purple-colored effort. Aromas of graphite, minerals, mocha, and blue as well as black fruits emerge from this rich, concentrated, long effort with high but sweet tannin. While it reveals some accessibility, it will be better in 3-4 years, and should last for 10-15. Tel. (707) 252-2250; Fax (707) 265-9162
