Littorai's 2011 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is soft, refined and silky on the palate. Sweet tobacco, mint, crushed flowers, dried cherries and raspberries lift out of the glass in a delicate, refined Pinot long on class. This is a relatively ethereal, feminine Pinot with terrific near and medium-term appeal.

A wine from 'the true north coast of Sonoma: the coastal mountains of Sonoma and Mendocino counties'. Mix of clones in Savoy vineyard, planted 1991-93 and organically farmed, on the cooler north-eastern side of the valley, protected on two sides. Loam over Franciscan shale at the toe of the slope. Low intervention winemaking, no additions. 18% whole cluster.  Mid to pale crimson. Pale rim. Sweeter smelling than the Foursquare but no specious sweetness, lifted red cherry. Suggestion of delicacy. Delicate and silky on the palate, light flow. Not a huge a mount of flesh but plenty of refinement and a fine-boned structure and lovely cool fresh length. So delicate but with great intensity. (JH)

The 2011 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard opens with a gorgeous bouquet redolent of crushed flowers, tobacco, spices and dried herbs. A high-toned, expressive wine, the Savoy impresses for its balance and total feminine grace. This is a flat-out captivating Pinot from Ted Lemon and Littorai.

Dullish red. Perfumed aromas of cherry, strawberry, mocha and underbrush, lifted by a floral nuance. Supple on entry, then slightly tart-edged in the middle, with moderate depth and cut to its red berry and spice flavors. Nicely supple wine with moderate complexity and a slightly dry, edgy finish.
