Good ruby-red color. Exotic, very ripe aromas of blackcurrant, spices, mint and roasted oak; slightly porty. Then fat, sweet and round in the mouth, gushing with dark berry, black licorice and eucalyptus flavor. Finishes long and sweet, with a bit of acidity yet to be integrated.

Score 87/100 · Drink 2005-2010, Robert Parker, Dec 2005
After the exceptional success of the 2001 and 2002, I must confess to some disappointment with the 2003. It exhibits a good dark ruby/purple color as well as lovely floral, black currant, earth, and toasty oak characteristics, but it is short in the middle without sufficient follow through. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Tel. (707) 968-9332
