Tasting notes
Bright, dark red. Pure on the nose but less expressive than the Coach Insignia, with black cherry and licorice aromas showing hints of incipient maderization. Fatter and broader than the Coach Insignia but more evolved as well; a distinctly mouthfilling wine but without the same fruit energy or integrated acidity. Finishes a bit clipped, with a touch of dryness. This should be drunk over the next few years. (13.8% alcohol)

The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Lamb Vineyard (260 cases) reveals a distinctive bouquet with a Graves-like scorched earth character. While it possesses a complex, intense aromatic profile, the hard, tannic, angular finish is troublesome. Patience will be required, but this dense ruby/purple-colored effort may never develop fully, hence the question mark. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2015? Tel. (707) 539-7511; fax (707) 539-3601
