(North Berkeley cuvee Musky stone fruits and pronounced new oak scents on the nose. Sweet on entry, then suave but youthfully tight in the middle, with sexy oak tones adding to the wine's inner-mouth aromatic character. The very long finish shows a strong note of mineral salts along with a sweetness from the oak. This is richer and longer than the cuvee normale but currently shows less detail in the middle palate.

Attractive nose offers lemon, orange, vanilla and spicy oak. Juicy, vibrant and dry, with intense lemon cream and mineral flavors. Firm acids carry the perfume on the end. A serious, firmly structured wine. Vincent Boyer notes that these vines were relatively unaffected by hydric stress in 2005.
