The 2022 Oublie Extended spent an additional four months in barrel, endowing it with a slightly more luxurious texture, more length on the finish and somewhat better alcohol integration than the standard bottling. The nose is laden with dark fruit compote aromas that introduce a punchy palate of sweet fruit flavors and more tannic grip on the finish. The more harmonious finish in this bottling provides an edge over the normal release.
The 2022 Oublié checks in as 40% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre, and 25% Syrah that was all destemmed and brought up in 50% new French oak. It offers a darker, slightly herbal nose of black cherry and blackberry-like fruit as well as ground pepper, sandalwood, and savory flowers. Gorgeous on the palate, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a supple, layered mouthfeel, fine tannins, and a great finish.
