Tasting notes
(80% new oak): Inky ruby. Smoky cherry and dark berry aromas, with hints of licorice, tobacco and vanilla in the background. Spicy and focused on entry, then deeper and broader in the middle, offering juicy blueberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of succulent herbs. The vanilla note comes back strong on the penetrating finish, which is smooth, smoky and very persistent.

An addition to the range this year, Bedrock's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kamen Vineyard captures the essence of this rugged, hillside site in the new Moon Mountain AVA. Graphite, iron, black fruit, savory herbs and dried flowers all jump from the glass. Today, the 2012 is showing beautifully, but there is plenty of structure to support years of very fine drinking. This is the first year Bedrock has worked with fruit from Kamen, the vineyard owned by Robert Kamen and farmed by Phil Coturri.
