Lastly, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Anjea comes from the Sleeping Lady Vineyard in Yountville and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (Clone 22) brought up in roughly 70% new French oak. Pure, old school Napa Valley aromatics of ripe black fruits, spring flowers, cassis, truffle, and new leather all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel, building, fine-grained tannins, and a great, great finish. As with the other 2018s here, this beauty flirts with perfection and is going to have 25+ years of prime drinking.

Notes of blackberry and dark plum with leather and woody undertones. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins that are well-integrated and show lots of depth and length. Compressed and solid. Drink after 2024.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Anjea Sleeping Lady Vineyard is a brilliant, effusive wine. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, blood orange, spice and mint all come alive in the glass. A wine of dazzling aromatic intensity, purity and silkiness, the Anjea is majestic today. The 2018 gains volume, power and intensity with time in the glass, punctuated by bright floral notes that extend the finish effortlessly. It is an absolutely stunning wine from Nigel and Shae Kinsman.

This is a single-vineyard wine from Sleeping Lady vineyard, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (all clone 22). Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Anjea offers up pronounced blueberry pie, Black Forest cake and black currant pastilles notes with touches of tar, new leather, underbrush and fragrant soil. The medium to full-bodied palate is solidly constructed with firm, ripe, grainy tannins and very bright and energetic black fruit layers, finishing long and mineral laced. 164 cases were made.
