Tasting notes
Fruit sourced from Sleeping Lady vineyard. Deep inky purple. Sweet and floral nose – like lilac marshmallow with a bit of citrus zest. Weighty yet elegant on the palate using oak to support the density. Fresh, neat finish with sweet herbs. Enticing. (SCJ)

Strong and well structured, this full-bodied wine should have a long life ahead of it. Bold aromas of black cherries, blueberries, violets and dark chocolate lead to dense, concentrated black fruit flavors accented by graphite, iron, cocoa and espresso. Made from 100% cabernet sauvignon grapes, clone 22 in block 4. (JG)
Sourced from the Sleeping Lady Vineyard, the nearly 30-year-old vines of Clone 22 that went into the 2021 Anjea have yielded a wine with ample cassis and cherry fruit, plus delicate herbal-floral flourishes. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, silky textured and plush, but it remains streamlined in shape, with a long, easy-to-enjoy finish.
Coming from the Sleeping Lady Vineyard in Yountville, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Anjea is a sensational wine displaying that classic Nigel purity and elegance yet bringing depth, richness, and length galore. Cassis, currants, Griotte cherries, graphite, Mediterranean herbs, and even a hint of iron define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied and pure, with ultra-fine tannins and a gorgeous finish. This majestic, just about flawless Cabernet Sauvignon deserves 4-6 years of bottle age and will be 30+-year wine.
