Tasting notes
(a five-variety Bordeaux blend based on 76% cabernet sauvignon) Bright ruby. Aromas of blueberry, cassis, menthol and minerals. Slightly hard-edged and medicinal, with rather grapey flavors of cassis, licorice and mint; very Oakville in character. This possesses good ripeness, but my enthusiasm was tempered by a slightly dusty dryness to the tannins.

The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown (76% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, firm tannin, and an enticing nose of black currants, espresso roast, charcoal, and cedar wood. Although closed, it is dense, promising, and ageworthy, with an upside potential of 12-15 years. (Price not yet determined) Tel. (707) 944-8577; Fax (707) 944-2823
Good medium ruby. Cool aromas of cassis, blueberry, bitter chocolate and licorice. Sweet but subdued and a bit youthfully medicinal. The tannins come across as a bit tougher than those of the '02, perhaps because the wine is less densely packed.
