Tasting notes
Radio-Coteau's 2016 Chardonnay Savoy has turned out beautifully. Translucent and expressive, with terrific supporting structure, the 2016 has so much to recommend it. Almond, dried flowers, chamomile and lemon confit all open up with time in the glass. Just as it was from barrel, the 2016 offers terrific purity and nuance to match its resonant feel.

I loved the 2016 Chardonnay Savoy, and Eric has been working with this site since 2002. Mostly Wente clone and barrel fermented and aged in 25% new oak, this gorgeous Chardonnay offers abundant notes of tangerine oil, white flowers, caramelized citrus, and marzipan. It’s rocking on the palate as well, with bright acidity and a crisp, layered mouthfeel with great elegance and purity of fruit. Drink it over the coming 8-10 years.
The 2016 Chardonnay Savoy is a very pretty, highly expressive wine. Apricot, smoke, chamomile, butter and lightly tropical notes are balanced by the decision to pick on the earlier side. The 2016 has lovely depth and textural richness in the restrained, mid-weight style that is such a Radio-Coteau signature. The purity of the flavors is truly striking.
