Tasting notes
From vines planted in 1969, the 2021 Chardonnay Purrington-Rued Vineyard is a crisp, citrusy effort, dominated by lemon-lime and tangerine notes. Despite that, it's medium to full-bodied and reasonably generous on the palate, a silky-textured wine that finishes long and clean.

The 2021 Chardonnay Purrington Rued Vineyard is elegant and polished. White flowers, pear, chamomile and a touch of spice are nicely laced together. The 2021 is silky and very nicely balanced, but at the same time, the tropical notes that are signatures of this site aren't quite present. Even so, this is nicely done.
The 2021 Chardonnay Purrington Rued Vineyard takes on a touch more pigment visually in its medium yellow/straw color and is ripe with aromas of beeswax, Meyer lemon, golden apple, and baking spice. Medium to full-bodied, it has a rich, supple texture, fresh acidity that lifts it cleanly off the palate, and a long, driving finish with a lingering perfume of vanilla bean and citrus blossoms. Fantastically balanced, it’s a wonderful and classic wine to enjoy over the next 6-8 years. 100 cases produced.
