Tasting notes
Coming from the back block of the Shea Vineyard and aged16 months in 60% new French oak, the 2015 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard is sensational stuff that readers should jump at the chance to try. Incredible notes of black cherries, black raspberries, forest floor, and autumn leaves flow to a silky, layered, concentrated, perfectly balanced Pinot Noir. This beauty never puts a foot wrong, offering a seamless texture, fine, fine tannin, and a great finish. Don’t miss it! This was a brilliant lineup of wines from the husband and wife team of Kenneth and Laura Juhasz, self-proclaimed Burgundy lovers who look for cooler, hillside, rocky sites to work with. Their wines all come from purchased fruit. Classic, old-school, balanced Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays are the name of the game here.

Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard offers up a gorgeous perfume of red and black cherries, violets, anise and earth. Medium to full-bodied, rich and velvety textured, it has a refreshing backbone and satisfyingly fruity finish.
