Score 93/100 · Drink 2005-2018, Robert Parker, Aug 2003

The inky/black/purple 2000 Syrah Lorraine Vineyard is saturated in color. It boasts a knock-out nose of melted licorice, blackberry liqueur, and acacia flowers. Full-bodied, huge, tannic, but ripe, this is a stunningly rich wine that should hit its peak in 2-3 years, and last for 15+. Tel. (805) 546-0305

Sweet, fleshy, and flamboyant is the 2000 Syrah Lorraine. It reveals glycerin, terrific concentration, and an underlying mineral component no doubt attributable to the stony subsoils. This may be the finest Lorraine yet produced. This is a rich, powerful, formidable Syrah meant for long term cellaring. (Price not yet determined) Tel. (805) 546-0305
