Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2018 Mekerra Sauvignon Blanc offers up electric scents of fresh grapefruit, white peaches and green mango with hints of passion fruit, wet slate, elderflower and lime blossoms. Medium to full-bodied, to palate is packed with intense citrus and tropical fruit layers, supported by racy acidity and a wonderfully satiny texture, finishing with fantastic length and loads of zesty and minerally sparks. It is irresistibly delicious now, but I suspect it is going to deliver a whole other level of experience with 2-3 years in bottle. 250 cases were made.
The 2018 Proprietary White Mekerra (Sauvignon Blanc) shows just how well-suited Knights Valley is to world-class wines. In 2018, the Proprietary White marries textural depth and energy with uncanny stylishness. Lemon confit, sage, white flowers and a whole range of varietal notes open over time in a vivid, absolutely exquisite wine that hits all the right notes.
