Score 87/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2006
Full red-ruby. Musky, reduced aromas of dark berries, espresso and mocha; strong element of torrefaction. Concentrated, broad, fat and sweet, with a musky character to the black raspberry and chocolate flavors. Offers plenty of texture but comes across as a bit youthfully clenched and in need of lots of aeration. The reduced quality continues straight through the wine. Finishes with fairly fine tannins.
