Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Bright red-ruby. Aromatically pure aromas of spicy cranberry, red cherry, licorice, herbs and dried rose. Dense but juicy; supple and quite suave, with nicely concentrated, deep flavors of red berries and spice complicated by licorice and herbs. As always, one of the handful of elite California sangioveses, with a lovely light touch. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and excellent length.
