Tasting notes
Vivid ruby-red. A powerful, expansive bouquet evokes blackberry, cherry-cola, licorice and baking spices. A suave potpourri note builds in the glass. Conveys a sophisticated blend of richness and finesse, offering sweet red and dark fruit, floral pastille, vanilla and spicecake flavors that are braced by a core of juicy acidity. Unfurls slowly on the youthfully tannic finish, which lingers with outstanding, floral-tinged tenacity. 67% new French oak.

From a cooler site in the middle of the appellation, the 2019 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard has an up-front, juicy, perfumed nose of cranberries, tart strawberries, wildflowers, and orange herbal tea. It's more medium-bodied on the palate and has slightly more acidity, but the balance is spot on, and it has terrific underlying structure as well as outstanding length. It will cruise for a solid decade or so in cold cellars.
