The 2009 Chardonnay The Voyage is a pretty, understated wine layered with expressive varietal fruit and gorgeous textural balance. Sweet spices linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Consulting winemaker Luc Morlet made these wines before departing in June, 2011. Tel. (707) 963-5472
Bright yellow. Musky, reticent aromas of lime and apple skin. Dense, thick and quite dry, offering very good depth but not quite the richness of the Sebastopol Vineyard offering. This is quite muted today and tricky to taste. Winemaker Luc Morlet noted that these vines were the last chardonnay to be picked by Chateau Boswell, and that natural acidity levels were quite sound.
