Deep garnet in color, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cemetery sashays out of the glass with a beautifully beguiling nose of kirsch, Black Forest cake, warm cassis and blueberry preserves with hints of camphor, candied violets, cedar chest and pencil shavings plus a waft of wild sage. Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited in the mouth, the palate has an amazingly plush texture and seamless freshness, finishing very long and hedonic. Love it!

Bright, deep ruby. The nose shows more medicinal reserve than the Labor of Love bottling, with black fruit aromas accented by violet and black pepper. Then more pliant in the mouth than the nose suggests; a distinctly broad, fat style of Cabernet with lovely intensity and inner-mouth perfume if a bit less complexity today than the Labor of Love blend. Finishes very long and ripely tannic, spreading out to saturate the palate. No corners here! This wine, too, will reward further aging. (15.1% alcohol)

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cemetery is a viscerally thrilling, exciting wine loaded with dark jammy fruit, violets, jasmine and licorice. It shows fabulous inner perfume and striking balance through to the finish. Opulent, intense and impeccably polished. Cemetery is a first class effort. Hints of espresso and mocha wrap around the finish.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cemetery is a viscerally thrilling, exciting wine loaded with dark jammy fruit, violets, jasmine and licorice. It possesses fabulous inner perfume and striking balance. Hints of espresso and mocha wrap around the finish. Opulent, intense and impeccably polished pretty much sums it up. Cemetery is a first class effort. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. I was very impressed with the wines I tasted from Behrens Family Winery. These bold, racy wines are long on exuberance and sheer personality. Tel. (707) 963-1774; www.ernaschein.com
