Tasting notes
Another cuvée from ancient vines (late 1800s), the 2019 Old Hill Ranch Heritage gives up a complex, medium to full-bodied, richly textured style as well as red plum fruits, notes of peppery herbs and dried flowers, ripe yet firm tannins, terrific overall balance, and a great finish. I love the purity of fruit, and it's going to offer loads of pleasure over the coming 8-10 years.

The 2019 Old Hill Heritage Wine is fascinating, as it captures all the signatures of this site, but with the smaller scale that is typical of the vintage. Sweet, perfumed aromatics and silky tannins frame this exquisitely beautiful, vivid heritage wine. Old Hill is a classic Sonoma ranch planted with a Zinfandel-based field blend that in this case includes more than 30 varieties.
