Score 94/100 · Drink 2013-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Jun 2013

With slightly less Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend compared to the 2010, the 2009 Sorella checks in with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Very aromatic, if not a touch exotic, with floral, lavender and wild herb qualities giving way to a beautiful core of fruit, it flows onto the palate with a silky, polished texture, integrated acidity and dusty tannin that frames the finish. Still in need of another handful of years in the cellar, it will shine for 10-12 years. Drink now-2025. Made by Chris Camarda from his base on Vashon Island just west of Seattle, Andrew Will Cellars delivers classic, elegant wines that show solid typicity and age-worthy profiles. His 2010s are superb across the board and possess slightly reserved aromatics with firm, pure textures. Downright backwards, especially when compared to his 2009s, they will all benefit from short- term cellaring and, I suspect, these scores will seem a bit low once they flesh out. His 2011s had just been bottled at the time of this tasting, so I opted to review them as barrel samples and give ranges for the scores. They all showed more up-front, perfumed and supple profiles, yet I think they will close down slightly over the coming year as they settle in bottle. Chris believes his 2011s might surpass his 2010s. (a Bordeaux blend based on 65% cabernet sauvignon; from Champoux Vineyard): Good bright red-ruby. Superripe aromas of cassis, cocoa powder, sandalwood and nutty oak. Supple, creamy, full and deep, with lush flavors of red fruits, spices and sandalwood given shape by underlying minerality. The big, ripe tannins coat the palate and front teeth on the very long, rich finish.
