Tasting notes
The 2012 Red Blend Hossfeld Coliseum is supple, textured and hugely appealing at this stage. Mocha, espresso, black cherries and leather are all laced together in an open, succulent wine with tons of appeal. The 2012 is radiant, expressive and fruity to the core. This ripe, juicy Merlot-based blend is a great choice for drinking over the next decade or so.

The 2012 Proprietary Red Blend Hossfeld Coliseum (80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a big, plump, mocha, black cherry and blackcurrant-scented nose, a plush, fleshy, succulent texture, low acidity, and beautiful ripeness as well as length. This hedonistic red will drink well for 5-7 years.
(an 80/20 blend of merlot and cabernet sauvignon): Saturated ruby. High-pitched aromas of blueberry, kirsch, brown spices and bitter chocolate lifted by violet and an exotic orange peel nuance. At once dense and fresh, with lively, harmonious acidity intensifying and enlivening the mountain berry and spice flavors. Finishes very long and brisk, with the orange zest note repeating. Impressive merlot-based wine from rocky soil.
