Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019

The 2017 Pinot Noir Olivet Lane comes from vines planted in 1973 in loamy soils. Made with 82% new French oak, it's medium ruby with aromas of granite, lilac and woodsmoke over rhubarb, crushed raspberries, potpourri and amaro touches. The palate is medium-bodied and fragrant with slowly evolving flavor layers and grainy tannins, with addicting freshness on the long, nuanced finish. This merits another couple of years in bottle. 730 cases produced.

Similar colored, the 2017 Pinot Noir Olivet Lane offers more spicy oak as well as solid black cherry, caramelized raspberries, and graphite aromas and flavors. It's beautifully balanced on the palate, with good midpalate depth and building tannins, as well as good acidity. It's a young, tight 2017 that will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and should last for over a decade.
