Tasting notes
Good deep red. Expressive aromas of black cherry, licorice and smoky oak. Sweet, round and concentrated; in a more approachable, less tightly coiled style than Clavelier's wines from Chambolle and Vosne in '06, no doubt due to the sandier soil here. I find this much less medicinal than a barrel sample I tasted a year ago. Ripe, harmonious acidity and smooth tannins should give this wine considerable early appeal.

Deep red-ruby. Rather wild aroma of blackberry syrup. Supple and thick but with terrific lift; bright acids intensify the sappy dark fruit flavors. A tactile, concentrated wine with an almost saline impression of extract. Finishes with a medicinal reserve. This will need patience.
