Tasting notes
Bright purple. Ripe black and blue fruit aromas are lifted and sharpened by peppery spice and mineral elements. Powerful yet lithe on the palate, offering vibrant blueberry and bitter cherry flavors that put on weight with air. Shows excellent clarity and thrust on the velvety finish, which emphasizes juicy blue fruit and violet qualities. I find the expression here to be more New World than that of the Peters. (JR)

Anthill's 2012 Syrah Campbell Ranch Vineyard, from a site on the true Sonoma Coast, captures the essence of cooler climate Syrah. White pepper, orange zest and savory herbs add attractive upper registers to darker plum, game and chocolate flavors that lurk below, yielding a Syrah that is wild and exotic to the core. Firm tannins support the finish. The 2012 Campbell is remarkable for many reasons, including its multi-dimensional personality and the way it constantly changes in the glass. Anthill fans won't want to miss this fabulous Syrah.
