A powerful, explosive wine, the 2016 Papera Heritage Wine is presently dominated by its acids and tannin. Even so, there is a fabulous density, a huge core of fruit and tons of supporting structure. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2016 is built for the cellar. Even at this early stage, the 2016 Papera is simply stunning. Quite unusually, the Papera is only about 50% Zinfandel and then 40% Carignane, plus a handful of other varieties.
