Score 93/100 · Drink 2017-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2017
Sweet red cherry, blood orange and wild flowers, along with soft, sexy contours give the 2012 Pinot Noir Estate Elanus much of its distinctive personality. Open-knit and gracious, the 2012 will drink well with minimal cellaring. The oak is a bit more apparent than in most of the other Peay wines, and the Elanus lacks some of the punch I admire most in these Pinots, but it is nicely rendered all the same.
