Score 16/20 · Drink 2021-2026, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, May 2021

Full bottle 1,440 g. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Aged 21 months in small barrels. NHB. Proper, opulent Napa nose. Violets and blueberry jam, cassis and singed cinnamon. Clove, Christmas cake, cherry liqueur. Almost port-like in flavour profile and sweetness. Generous. A boudoir wine. Purple-velvet cushions and black-satin sheets... You'll want to really love big, hot-jammy Napa wines to spend £56 on this. (TC)

Lots of ripe fruit with very fine tannins and a juicy mouthfeel. Medium to full body, polished and round texture and a flavorful finish. Soft with lots of flavor. Drink or hold.

A step up in price, the 2015 Red Blend Tapestry checks in as 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 7% Malbec and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, all aged in 60% new barrels. It offers a more vibrant bouquet of crème de cassis, damp forest floor, spring flowers, and subtle oak as well as a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated style on the palate. It's a step up over the 2014 and is a rocking Cabernet Sauvignon to enjoy over the coming decade or so.

The 2015 Reserve Tapestry is soft, pliant and supple, all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal, mint and dried flowers are all laced together in this racy, super-expressive blend from BV. The Cabernet Sauvignon-based Tapestry is one of the hidden gems in the range.
