The 1997 Tapestry is a Claret-styled, understated, restrained wine that looks to Europe for inspiration rather than taking advantage of the superb ripe fruit California provides. This dark ruby-colored, medium-bodied, moderately tannic effort exhibits notions of dried herbs, coffee, black cherries, and spice. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Tel. Red- and blackcurrant, blackberry, bitter chocolate and tarry oak on the nose. Strong but somewhat hard-edged dark berry flavors; fairly rich and sweet but rather closed today. Offers good texture and length and nicely ripe, dusty tannins.
Big, bold, rich and polished, this is an immense and deeply concentrated Cabernet blend laden with ripe plum, currant, anise, green olive and cedar notes and finishing with gripping tannins. Best from 2002 through 2012. 27,000 cases made.

Beaulieu Vineyard remains one of the most historically important wineries in Napa Valley. It is it one of the longest continuous running wineries in the region, as one of the few that kept operating throughout Prohibition.
