Score 93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013

Bright red. Candied cherry, rose petal and smoky Indian spices on the seductively perfumed nose. Juicy, bright and sharply delineated, with sappy dark berry, bitter cherry, licorice and spicecake flavors. Supple and fruity but also nicely dry and linear. Finishes with sweet, fine-grained tannins and excellent, mineral-driven persistence. The balance of depth, energy and finesse here is very impressive.
